Ok, yes. This is going to be another Starbucks posting. Just warning you ahead of time …

Every morning before I make my way into the office, I stop at a local Starbucks closest to work. For the past six months, the Starbucks crew has managed to remember my name, my order and occasionally the pastry I tend to order. I will admit, I’m not good with names. So I probably couldn’t tell you their names. But I always appreciate their smiling faces in the morning.

Today I go in and order my ever-so-famous drink (”I need a tall iced white mocha, non-fat, no whip please for Chrissy!”) and standing 3rd in line at the register. The lady at the espresso machines yells out to me “Do you want an extra shot today?” I definitely do not need another shot or I would be bouncing off the walls in my office, so I politely decline. As I’m checking out the new vanilla bean scones (which are amazingly tasty) she comes over to the register with my drink and a straw in hand. Now remember, there are two people still in front of me. She asks me if that’s all for today, I say yes, and she says “It’s on me.”

Now, this same lady gives me the special treatment as well yesterday. This time, I was five people deep in line and she was working the register. She sees me walk in and she calls my order out before getting to the others.

It’s the little gestures in life like that that put a smile on my face. Even though I might complain about the $4 cup of caffeine I order everyday, I can never complain about the service.

Thanks Miami Lakes Starbucks!
