Only 2 more days before I hop on the plane and fly “home” to visit the family and more importantly, attend the SXSW conference.
This will be my second time attending and here’s how my schedule is mapped out so far:
Saturday:
-
10:00 am · What Teens Want Online & On Their Phones - since my current job has a target audience of ages 18-24, this is beneficial to me is designing/developing content that is right for them.
-
11:30 am · The Contextual Web - it’s always good to know what else is out there.
-
3:30 pm · Blood, Sweat, and Fear: Great Design Hurts - I often run into a barricade of lame ideas when I’m designing. Maybe this will help me from hitting my head so hard.
-
5:00 pm · Social Marketing Strategies Metrics, Where Are They? - Everyone wants a social website. I want to know when it’s right or wrong for a company.
Sunday
-
10:00 am · Social Design Strategies - refer to previous bullet.
-
11:30 am · Sponsored Panel: Responsible Web Design - with my design and coding getting more and more cleaner, I thought this would be a great session to sit in on.
-
2:00 pm · Keynote Interview with Mark Zuckerberg - just because I’m an avid user of Facebook
Monday
- 10:00 am · Sponsored Panel: Going Social Now - See a trend in social communities?
-
11:30 am · Social Networking and Your Brand - enough said here.
-
3:30 pm · 10 Tips for Managing a Creative Environment - Everyone’s gotta know this!
-
3:30 pm · Client-Side Code and Internationalization - I think I might have to sneak in and out of this and the previous one
Tuesday
So as you can see, I won’t be the girl who is attending a session every hour. I think it’s important to mingle and network with other people of our kind at events like this. If we cross paths, don’t be afraid to say hello!
