Get to the Gym!
I’m an avid workout nazi. I can be found at the LA Fitness at least 4 days a week. The other three days I’m either playing soccer, volleyball, or … at the beach. Hey, I live in Florida. It’s a pre-req that I be a beach bum when I can.Anyway - I digress. I found this link today that discussed the benefits of working out and staying active. I will admit, I am certainly not the best eater when it comes to feeding myself. Chick-fil-A and I get along great and the 230 calorie filled Starbucks trips daily aren’t always so good for me. But I like to tell myself that I can make up for it when I’m at the gym.My gym routine consists of:
- Checking my phone to make sure my gym partner is up and meeting me.
- Staggering into the gym half awake.
- Stretching the legs and arms.
- Playing racquetball with Kristin for approximately an hour.
- A nice set of 100 ab crunches.
- Picking a set of muscles to work (bis and tris, shoulders and back, or chest). Three sets of ten reps for each exercise.
- Deciding between the leg press or vertical leg press.
That usually takes about 2 hours out of my morning. Then it’s usually followed by a smoothie. Ever since moving back to Orlando, I’m able to have my active lifestyle back which includes the gym and sports. I can definitely say the article above is right on when it comes to my energy levels during the day and sleeping through the night. Maybe this will entice some of you out there to join me!
